Photography for me is so simple but explaining why I do it is not. Trying to define a simple thing somehow becomes complicated.
When photographing I completely let go of any sense of being in control. My brain is not adding anything and I become completely connected with the present moment. Everything I know is there without being conscious of it. Everything is real and pure. The things I choose to photograph change, but the reason I photograph never changes.
These two quotes describe it perfectly:
"A photographer is someone who wagers everything on seeing."
–Shomei Tomatsu
"If you look very intensely and slowly, things will happen that you never dreamed of before."
–Aaron Siskind
